Rock Climbing and St. Patricks Day

Saturday, March 16th, 2013 – Sunday, March 17th, 2013

I had the amazing opportunity to try rock climbing this weekend!  I was a bit apprehensive about the opportunity at first, but then I realized it would be an amazing experience and jumped on the chance!

The rock climbing community turned out to be really close knit and a really great group of people.  Many of the people had travelled from other parts of Korea to climb here in Busan.  With a little bit of encouragement and guidance along the way, I climbed to the top of the rock and had a chance to sit at the top and appreciate the amazing view and feel a sense of accomplishment.  At times, while climbing, if felt like I was stuck and my hands and feet were both going to slip, but I inched my way out of those situations and continued persevering.  I climbed two courses in total that day.  After the first one, my arms felt like jelly and I could not function them for a couple of minutes!  I think that Jujitsu training helped with leg muscle conditioning making the challenge little bit easier.

The next day was St. Patrick’s Day.  I joined a group of friends for a green beer at a bar by the beach and then went for a short walk along the beach before ending another activity packed weekend!
