My kids!

The couple of weekends have involved some raining days and some repeated activities.  So instead of boring you with the same things, this post is going to show off some cute small faces I see on a daily basis.  I can't help but have some favourites and some extra cute or well behaved kids I want to show off.  Here are some pictures of those students!  I teach almost 150 individual students each week so I couldn't include them all, but you get a general idea from the pictures I posted below!

Taejongdae

Saturday, April 13th, 2013 – Sunday, April 14th, 2013

Aimee and I took a 45 minute direct bus from where I live to a place called Taejongdae.  Taejongdae is a natural park on the coast of Busan with a nature walk and an extraordinary view of the sea.  It also has a lookout point that allows you to see the outline of Japan in the distance!  The park has some monuments, small cruise terminals, pebble stone beaches with beautiful waves, turquoise water and a lighthouse.

The train you could take along the trail

One of the highlights for me was seeing the ajumas (married Korean women) preparing fresh seafood right by the sea.  People can sit on platforms overlooking a view of the sea while eating seafood right out of the ocean.

The next day was a rainy Sunday so I returned to another Cat Café to spend the afternoon.  This Café had a really cute newborn puppy, a completely hairless cat and a litter of kittens the owner brought out for quick admiration.  He owner also whipped up a batch of cat food for us to put on our hands and let the cats eat from.  The cats were a lot more responsive when there was food involved which must be an international response.

Boemoesa in Spring!

Saturday, April 6th, 2013 – Sunday, April 7th, 2013

It rained all day Saturday in Busan.  We were all a bit disappointed but it turned out to probably be a good thing because I think I needed the rest.  I still went to Fully Booked in the late afternoon to play more Catan with different people.  People take this game very seriously but apparently I am on a winning streak!

Sunday was a bit more productive with another hike on the fortress wall by Boemoesa Temple.  This time the water was not frozen and the flowers were still in bloom so it was even prettier then the first time!

Any challenge of living in Korea is that they seem to have a mold problem.  I discovered my apartment was a victim to this problem and since then I have done procedures to minimize this problem.  Most apartments have at least some mold hidden in them.  I can be a health risk, especially to foreigners since we have not grown up with this problem and our bodies are not used to it.  I hope that I can keep it under control!

A little example of what it looked like

On a brighter note, I want to give a big thanks to Noelle who sent me an Easter care package!!!!  Thank you so much!  Thank to you Grandma for the Easter chocolate and card and to my family for the Easter card too!  :)
