There were so many photogenic areas in this unique and beautiful city.  According to our walking tour guide, Porto was not touristy until 6 years ago when the budget airline, Ryanair, created a flight route to Porto.  The city centre was basically abandoned and had a lot of crime.  Since then, it has become an up-and-coming area with a lot of nice bars, restaurants and activity!  You can still see a lot of abandoned and run down historic buildings in the picturesque port and city centre.  It was so nice to travel while the weather was agreeable, we had several days to explore and on top of that, we could visit the coast and breathe in some sea air!
